Missions Update From Pastor David Cronk

Last year Barb(pictured above) introduced us to an orphanage and school in Kamuli, Uganda. She had gone there on a short-term mission trip and was moved by the hearts of the children and compassion and love of the staff there. Many of the 400 children who attend the school and/or live there have lost their parents due to AIDS. The name of the Orphanage and School is aptly named, S.T.A.G (Save The AIDS Generation) Uganda.

This school is much more than an education for these children, it is their lifeline. You see, the school is where they get their food for the day. Without the school many of them would have nothing to eat.

Last year the campus was in desperate need of a boy’s dorm as well as bathrooms, as you could well imagine with 400 children. Through God’s grace and your generous hearts, we were able to gather the funds for both the boy’s dorm and the bathrooms. They were both a tremendous blessing! Your love for these children reminded me so much of Jesus who when He saw the multitudes, was moved with compassion and reached out and fed the hungry, healed the sick and loved those who were around Him.

Things were going well for S.T.A.G. until The Corona Virus hit in early March, and the Ugandan Government shut down all the schools. Our 400 students could no longer go to school. About half of the 140 children that lived at the orphanage we able to go live with extended family or friends. The rest of the children remained at the orphanage. When the school shut down, most of the donors dropped off as well. This left the orphanage and school with only two monthly donors, Barb and a man from Australia.

Fast forward to today, the school has reopened. They have about 140 students attending the school, including 65 who live at the orphanage. Although the children have returned, the donors have not, leaving the orphanage short by about $1,100 a month. This is a great opportunity for us to reach out again to show God’s love to these children in a tangible way. I am confident that God will supply all their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

As God is stirring your heart, I would ask that you prayerfully consider helping on a monthly basis to this much needed ministry. Whether you have a little or a lot to give, I know that God will multiply it to satisfy their need. We have made it easy to give, on the giving button on our website there is a line to indicate your donation is for STAG Uganda.

God Bless You, Pastor David
